S00The Sources · where every genome begins

It begins with what you saw.

Phone photographs from ordinary walks: a tidepool shelf at low tide, wet sandstone, a street fig against the sky. No moodboards, no references to other architecture, no style prompts. One photograph and one sentence of intent is a complete Morphogen input. Everything on this page became something in the Library.

01Coastal tidal rock → the Fractured Tide Bathhouse
SOURCE · MS01_MACRO_01 Close photograph of fractured coastal rock: thin grey plates broken along orthogonal joints, dotted with white barnacle clusters
Series S01 · Coastal Tidal Rock · macro capture, intertidal band

A broken pavement, read as a plan.

SERIES S01SCALE: MACROD2 ABSTRACT

The founding source of the studio. Not a pretty rock: a rule set. The plates, the joints, and the way life clusters along them carried straight through to massing, circulation, and lighting.

What the forensics read

thin stacked plates sheared along a shared dip
two orthogonal joint sets divide the mass
barnacles colonize along the joints, never at random
tidal zonation bands the wall in horizontal courses

02The working shelf → the Tidal Shelf Resort
SOURCE · TIDAL SHELF A tidal shelf at low tide: rimmed pools of still water between barnacled ridges, bright green algae where water lingers, the sea at the horizon
Low tide, the shelf at work: pools held between surges

A shelf that already runs a resort.

SERIES S02 KINSCALE: MASSINGD2 ABSTRACT

The shelf holds water in rimmed basins between surges, keeps life where water lingers, and lets everything else drain and dry. That is a hospitality diagram: pools, rooms, and paths were already organized before any drawing began.

What the forensics read

rimmed basins hold still water beside moving water
colonization gathers where water lingers longest
the shelf steps in low terraces toward the surge
green colonization maps exactly where the water rests

03Two figs → Fractal Bio-Metropolis
SOURCE A · MS03_HERO_01 Looking up into a ficus canopy: pale limbs dividing into a fine net beneath a dense backlit leaf mat
The crown from inside: support divides, enclosure stays at the edge
SOURCE B · BANYAN A banyan fig whose aerial roots have grown into a colonnade of bundled trunks carrying one broad crown
The banyan: one crown carried on many grown, bundled feet

The tree that plans cities.

KINSHIP S03TWO SOURCES, ONE RULED2 PLAN / D3 METABOLISM

Source A gave the hierarchy: section handed down at every fork, count rising as size falls. Source B gave the bearing: columns that are grown, not placed. Together they became a city of 1 civic trunk, 6 districts, 24 cells, 96 micro-clusters.

The instruction, as typed

“Translate it to create a futuristic city plan for 50 thousand people using these patterns and attributes as the inspiration for the guiding principles. The concept will be the foundation for visualization. This city feels biological, the ultimate universal fractal geometry that can be made into a living futuristic place, a typology for other cities.”

That is the entire brief a designer typed. The DNA card, the fork counts, the master prompt, and the boards came out of the method, not the typing.

04Wet sandstone → Strata Hall
SOURCE · SANDSTONE STRATA Close view of layered red and cream sandstone, thin wavy strata flowing diagonally with one dark red seam
Sediment recorded as banding · the seam is the anomaly

Ground that remembers its river.

STUDYSCALE JUMP TO TEXTILEMATERIALIZE

Deposition, current, and one iron-dark seam. The banding carries direction and hierarchy without repeating itself, which is exactly what a great ballroom floor needs and almost never gets.

What the forensics read

flow recorded as banding, hierarchy without repetition
wave sets nest at three frequencies
one dark seam organizes the entire field
color moves by deposition, never by pattern tile

ONE GENOME IN THE LIBRARY, THE HORIZON THRESHOLD SCREENS (L04), KEEPS ITS SOURCE OFF THE RECORD FOR NOW.

Your camera roll is a site visit.

Every genome here began as a picture anyone could have taken. The difference is the method that read it. The founding cohort gets that method first.
